This week’s #FeaturedFriday spotlights Kristyn Noeth, author of “The ESG and Sustainability Deskbook for Business: A Guide to Policy, Regulation, and Practice.” She shared a bit about her career path and inspiration for this book: Q: What was your main reason/inspiration for writing this book? “This book is an answer to a question that I would frequently receive from people across the business world. They would ask: ‘What can I read that will provide a comprehensive overview of #ESG and #sustainability in business?’ I didn’t have an answer, so I wrote the book! I realized there was a real need for a practical guide and reference tool on sustainability and ESG in business that covers the evolving regulatory landscape, emerging trends, and cross-sector collaborations, and includes best practices, case studies, and actionable takeaways to illustrate business integration.” Q: How did you get started on your career path? “I started my career after graduate school as a Presidential Management Fellow in Washington, DC. I worked on #climatechange, #COP3, and the #KyotoProtocol while posted to the US Department of State and later other key policy issues at the US Department of Justice. Those were formative years in my career and provided a first-row seat to national and international policymaking and government relations. It also shaped my perspective on diplomacy and leadership. I will be forever grateful for that opportunity.” Q: What is your favorite book? Favorite author? “I am an avid reader who loves bookstores and libraries. My bookshelves are filled with every genre of fiction and non-fiction and far too many reference and legal books. The collection of writers I always go back to for inspiration and a grounding read are the early conservationists: Aldo Leopold, Rachel Carson, and the other heralded writers and pioneers in the field.” For more on Kristyn’s book: https://lnkd.in/gqEqF99W ?
