We’re working to restore the return of six anadromous species to the international St. Croix River. ?? In recent years Verdantas Flow Labs (formerly Alden Research Laboratory) has worked with the State of Maine’s Department of Marine Resources, The Nature Conservancy, and the Passamaquoddy Tribe to improve fish passage on the St. Croix River. Listed on the White House's 10 transformational fish passage projects, the wide-scale restoration of the St. Croix River will not only benefit the river’s ecosystem, but also boost local economies while rebuilding populations of threatened, endangered, and culturally important species. Upon project completion, a variety of sea-run fish will have improved access to 600 miles and 60,000 acres of habitat, resulting in the return of tens of millions of adult and juvenile fish annually. The success of this project is a testament to the power of collaborative conservation efforts. ?? Learn more about our work on the St. Croix River: https://lnkd.in/g7573Fmg #FlowLabs #FishPassage

?? Integrating Drone Technology for Enhanced Dam Inspections Last week, Verdantas had the privilege of attending the Association of Environmental & Engineering Geologists - AEG Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA. AEG is a national organization dedicated to advancing applied geology through regular/annual meetings, mentoring and scholarship programs, diversity initiatives, networking, and much more! Our very own Daniel Granda, P.E., ENV.SP delivered an insightful presentation on our use of drone technology to improve dam inspections. ?? For much of the 20th century, dam inspections were limited to ground-based methods, often leaving critical areas unexamined. At Verdantas, we’re changing the game by integrating aerial and underwater drones into our inspection processes. Our approach combines these advanced technologies to provide a holistic view of dam conditions, enhancing safety and reliability while demonstrating the transformative potential of these technologies in geological engineering. ?? Learn how we're innovating the future of dam safety! https://lnkd.in/gXFeVZiv #TechnologyTuesday #DamSafety #Innovation #Engineering #Verdantas #GeologicalEngineering #SafetyFirst

The Verdantas Team is bringing innovative leachate management solutions to Tampa! ???? Our team in the southeast successfully delivered a ~370,000 modular above-ground storage tank (AST) for a client to manage landfill leachate. By transitioning from costly over-the-road trucking services and 10 and 10 16,000-gallon portable tanks, our client is achieving significant cost savings and creating a positive impact on the environment. The site is rapidly growing as part of south-central Florida’s rebuilding efforts post-Hurricane Ian. Our team has been instrumental in negotiating fast-track modifications for the newly permitted leachate management system while navigating complex environmental compliance issues for a growing construction and demolition debris disposal facility. Kudos to our dedicated team for their hard work and commitment to excellence and sustainable solutions!
