Art in Place, led by Verdant’s own Dayton Castleman, brings together the art and real estate worlds in Northwest Arkansas for programming, networking, and creative ideation. Over the past couple of years, Dayton Castleman has been building a pioneering Creative Placemaking studio within our firm. He has been exploring how placemaking and public art fits into real estate development, and how to collaborate with developers to create engaging, human-centered places and spaces. Today Dayton is speaking on this topic at the Built Innovation Gathering in Tulsa, hosted by Urban Land Institute (ULI) Oklahoma, where like-minded professionals are gathering to talk about how we shape the built environment in our communities.

Our team is having a blast at International Retail Design Conference this week! Dayton Castleman and Sonia Spinks got to take the main stage yesterday to talk about our Walmart Beauty Popup with INTERFORM.ART, while Jay and Christy cheered them on. ??

Verdant takes the big stage today at International Retail Design Conference in Kansas City! Sonia Spinks is joining our own Dayton Castleman for a general session talk about working together to create the Walmart Beauty Popup as a partnership with INTERFORM.ART. Attendees will hear how Walmart Beauty and Interform worked together with Verdant's help to craft bespoke brand activations for L'Oréal, Carol's Daughter, Conair LLC, Essie, and Pantene. How did these organizations come together for an enthralling end result? This engaging, story-led general session will explore the highs and lows of that project, discovering the result of artists and CPG brands working together to highlight and distinguish those brands, and getting real-world, practical insights on best practices for partnering with creatives on brand activations across permanent retail or pop-ups. They will hear about the lessons learned when artists and marketing professionals mix – and see the creative outcome of this strange collision of worlds.

Working with national brands to deploy retail prototypes is rewarding, challenging, and always interesting. The brand's business and marketing strategies are consistent, but each store location has its own architectural requirements and constraints. In its Charlotte, NC store, Verdant Studio helped realize EVEREVE's promise, “to inspire women to keep moving forward – in fashion and in their lives,” through the design of a reimagined shopping experience where women feel welcomed, seen, and understood. Every detail of the store’s construction, from the shelving to the signage, is an essential element in creating this atmosphere, and each of Evereve’s boutique-style storefronts are as unique as the women they aim to inspire.? ?
