Veracity is honored to receive the INNOCOS Award for Best Natural Metabolism Booster, adding to our growing list of awards for Metabolism Ignite. This exciting recognition reinforces our mission: delivering safe, effective, and science-backed solutions for metabolic health. ?We had a fantastic few days in Miami sharing the latest in health and longevity science. A few take-aways for me were: 1. People want safe, long-term solutions for long-term problems, leading to... 2. Deprescription is just as powerful as Rx. More people are opting to forgo or come off Rx solutions (e.g. <17% of people on GLP-1s >1 year; rate of hormonal birth control use has dropped -42%) 3. The need for holistic care is real. Powerful peptides and exosomes can provide some benefit, but this is only after the basics that drive 90% of health and results are addressed: Diet, Movement, Sleep, Hydration, Stress Management, Social Connection & Love I’m incredibly proud to be building a brand that doesn’t just sell great products, but more importantly talks about how we need to do the big things that truly drive health big (the 90%) and optimize after that. Rightfully so, there has been a lot of discussion around what the policies of a second Trump administration will bring. Despite politics, there has been a general burst of enthusiasm in the supplements industry about the appointment of RFK to HHS, even dubbing him the "Wellness Influencer in Chief". As an entrepreneur in the space, on the surface, I could join this abundant enthusiasm, but I want to highlight a few key things that concern me, despite any temporary growth we may experience from his policies: 1. Less regulation is not necessarily good for our industry. While regulation in general can sometimes be unnecessarily costly and slow innovation, we also have to be realistic. There are many bad players in our industry: those who don't use good manufacturing practices, those who don't test and verify the ingredients in their products, and particularly the many that make unsubstantiated claims. To gain and maintain public trust, we must have some regulation. Regulation, when done right, would benefit the many high quality brands that are bringing true scientific innovation to help improve consumers' health. 2. Supplement regulation should focus on 'do no harm'. To enable point 1, the most important regulation is that both the ingredients and the specific manufacturing do no harm to the public and that any known risks are disclosed. Let's be honest - most/all supplements are voluntarily. It is most important to ensure that this additional practice has the potential to bring some or a lot of good, but definitely does not harm consumers. 3. Separating our industry from the medical field will do more harm long-term to the industry. The fact that the supplements industry is praising this appointment and doctors are fearing it should be a red flag. We need to be united with the medical field to have the long-term impact on consumer health we in the industry are looking for. I also wanted to share a couple of ideas that I hope RFK will help promote: 1. Help educate doctors on the legitimacy and efficacy of plant compounds. The fact that many doctors tell their patients that supplements are not legit is either due to a) some bad actors (see #1 above) or b) a lack of education about how these compounds work scientifically. By helping to educate we will be able to win the hearts and minds of those that our consumers and potential consumers trust. 2. Invest government money into research for non-Rx, generally non-patentable compounds. It is impossible for supplements companies to fund and run the type of studies drug companies do if for no other reason than they typically are not granted wide reaching patent protection for decades that would make that type of clinical research investment worth it. But it doesn't mean it's not important to do, the government should step in to help. Overall, I want to remind our industry of the importance of uniting eastern and western medicine, not pulling us further apart. I'm curious to hear other's thoughts!
