Just one week after its unveiling, the buzz around the VDR2 continues to grow. The Venus Detonation Ramjet (VDR2), a 2000-lb thrust class engine, was introduced at the Up.Summit in Bentonville, leaving a lasting impression. The VDR2 represents a leap forward, offering seamless performance from takeoff all the way to Mach 6. It's a key step in making the hypersonic economy a reality, with initial flight testing on our drone in 2025.

The Venus Detonation Ramjet is a 2000 lb thrust engine and it marks a major breakthrough in high-speed flight. Our advanced propulsion system will power high-speed vehicles like drones and aircraft, enabling them to travel vast distances at high altitudes and reach high-mach speeds with unmatched efficiency. Later today, we’ll reveal our groundbreaking new engine, a major leap forward in aerospace technology, and highlight our new partnership that will pave the way for the future of high-speed flight.

Venus Aerospace successfully completed the first long-duration, high-thrust hot fire test of a Rotating Detonation Rocket Engine (RDRE) last week, marking a significant milestone in our RDRE development. This achievement brings us closer to flying an RDRE in the near future, as the engine’s thrust-to-weight ratio is now on par with leading rocket engines in the industry.

Girls in Aviation at the Lone Star Flight Museum empowers young girls through engaging hands-on experiences and inspiring role models, motivating them to pursue careers in aviation, STEM, and related fields. Venus supports this mission by fostering an environment where women can excel and lead in STEM careers. This past weekend, our CEO, Sarah "Sassie" Duggleby , connected with future scientists and engineers, embodying our commitment to inspiring and engaging the next generation of STEM leaders.

In 1939, #NationalAviationDay was created to celebrate the development of aviation, coinciding with Orville Wright’s Birthday. At Venus, we find it fitting, since we continue to engineer the future of aviation, that we honor today by taking a moment to appreciate our recent accomplishments. This spring, our inaugural supersonic drone flight not only got us data, but it allowed us to successfully demonstrate our flight controls, stability and one leg of our ultimate rotating detonation rocket engine propulsion system.
