Even on a Monday, excited doesn't even begin to cover it! I'm thrilled to be speaking at #MewsUnfold, an event dedicated to the future of #hospitality. This year's theme, "Shaping the Future of Hospitality," brings together well known brands and visionary new players, all united in reimagining our industry. ?? I'm honored to moderate a panel on a topic that pulses through my veins—Mastering Data Driven Insights. Why me? With 17 years at Booking.com and as a partner at Ventures Hospitality, I live and breathe data. My passion? Unleashing the hidden revenue potential in every moment, every interaction, and every corner of your property, while ensuring every guest leaves happier. Thanks to innovative technologies like Mews, hoteliers now have the tools to transform every space within their property into a profit center. My latest obsession is Mews' groundbreaking Spaces feature which allows for flexible resource management—be it meeting rooms, spa appointments, or even a corner desk—all bookable for any length of time, with dynamic pricing models that keep both your business and your guests smiling. Join us for a insightful and fun discussion with our panelists from Lighthouse, Generator, and Juyo Analytics. Let’s dive deep into the data and discover new frontiers of profitability and guest satisfaction. See you there! #Innovation #FutureofHospitality #Travel

As Earth Day kicked off our week, I started thinking about how our decisions as hoteliers impact our planet. I have a wish list of initiatives that I would like to see hotels implement (with composting and excess food donations near the top). However, the first item on my list is solar: We are actively evaluating several hotel properties with VECKTA that are well suited for the addition of solar production and battery backup. We are going to reduce emissions and save money in the process! Hoteliers, have you ever installed solar panels or energy saving systems? Please share your advice, success stories and concerns. If you believe in the same mission, we can review whether your hotel is a suitable candidate.

All of these recent lifestyle hotel brand acquisitions and strategic partnerships are pretty wild to watch. Lou Zameryka and I were talking about potential lifestyle consolidation in our strategy calls last fall. Now as this continues to unfold, I'm curious what's the primary driving force. What do y'all think: a) Small hotel brands are capitulating and realizing there is a limit to their potential unit growth. b) Brand founders are ready to move on after 10+ years. c) Small lifestyle brands realize that they can't own customer loyalty and distribution in the way Marriott and Hilton can. d) Hilton is hungry and sees an opportunity to out punch its nearest competitors. Hilton is excited to announce it has acquired a majority controlling interest in Sydell Group to expand NoMad Hotels from its existing London flagship location to high-end markets around the world. The addition of NoMad to Hilton’s brand portfolio will create new offerings for travelers seeking uniquely local luxury experiences and supports our focus on growing our portfolio to offer owners and guests new options in more markets for every stay occasion.
