Last week Venture Builder VC celebrated the culmination of the NOV Supernova Startup Accelerator, Batch 1, with a packed house at our Demo Day at Hotel ZaZa in Memorial City in Houston. Eleven great startups pitched the audience of oil & gas execs, investors, and corporate innovators. Founders briefly explained the paid pilot programs they'll each be executing in partnership with NOV over the coming weeks. Our unique model delivers much-needed direct revenue to startups in the form of paid pilots with a top-flight corporate enterprise client. This provides a level of due diligence that exceeds most accelerators and even many VCs helping de-risk investments in our Fund. It also allows corporate clients like NOV the chance to work closely with new technology for potential adoption. Thanks to those who attended in spite of the threat of snow—it arrived Monday night after the event!
