On November 6, the Mountain Fire broke out in Ventura County and has now affected over 20,000 acres of land with 7% containment. In response, the County of Ventura has partnered with the Ventura County Community Foundation to establish an emergency fund, which is accepting donations to support community members and local nonprofit organizations most affected by the Mountain Fire. The fund is dedicated to supporting individuals and nonprofit organizations that provide essential aid to those most affected in times of crisis. One hundred percent of contributions go directly toward relief efforts, focusing resources on those who need it most. SoCal Grantmakers is working in partnership with the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) to vet and post funds supporting relief efforts for this incident. Our friends at Ventura County Community Foundation and County of Ventura are accepting donations in support of community members and nonprofits most affected by the Mountain Fire. You can support the Ventura County Wildfire Relief and Recovery Fund at vccf.org/donate. As of Monday morning, the fire was only 36% contained and has already burned 32 square miles, destroying dozens of homes and forcing evacuations from Camarillo to Fillmore. With deep roots in the nonprofit and funder communities, VCCF is standing by and ready to help.
VCCF has opened up the Ventura County Wildfire Relief and Recovery Fund in partnership with the County of Ventura, dedicated to supporting individuals and nonprofit organizations that provide essential aid to those most affected in times of crisis. 100% of donations will go directly toward relief efforts, focusing resources on those who need it most.
