Sadly, yet unsurprisingly, the new administration begins disrupting the foundations of public health. Our startup, Venova Technologies, is entirely grant funded. 75% of our funding comes from the NIH. We have two pending NIH grant proposals. One has been reviewed. One was just set for review in March. This could drastically halt our progress, not to mention the billions worth of research and innovation from academics and other companies that depend on the NIH for their funding. Thinking of our colleagues at the NIH. Hoping this will get resolved. Otherwise, we’re out of funding in 2026. https://lnkd.in/gayjwcFB

Earlier this month, we were one of the pitch winners at LabCentral Ignite’s Entrepreneur Bootcamp at LabCentral! We had the unique opportunity to learn from Anton Xavier of Silicon Valley Bank, Derrick Rowe of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, and John Pennett of EisnerAmper. The bootcamp covered raising capital, due diligence, and IP strategy for biotech and medtech startups. It was also great to run into and hear from David Uffer, an industry expert in medical devices and women's health ?? Congratulations to our CEO and the other pitch winners: Emily Man, Connor Verheyen of Spheric Bio, and Stephen Linderman of Absco Therapeutics ??? Each winner received pro bono time with each sponsor organization: Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, EisnerAmper, and Silicon Valley Bank. Today, we celebrate International Day of Action for Women’s Health! ???????? This day was first observed in 1987 and aims to advocate for women’s reproductive rights, highlight healthcare disparities faced by women, and raise awareness about gender-based violence. Now more than ever, we need to prioritize women’s healthcare and fight for the accessibility of reproductive services and protection of reproductive rights for all people, including women, girls, and gender-diverse people. #womenshealth #internationaldayofactionforwomenshealth?#reproductivehealth?#reproductivejustice?#reproductiverightsarehumanrights
