Each of these programs plays a crucial role in shaping broadband deployment, but their effectiveness depends on how they interact. DOGE introduces a layer of accountability and transparency, helping ensure that the best projects rise to the top while inefficient ones sink. This is exactly what our industry needs to optimize funding and outcomes. Meanwhile, BEAD must remain focused on the unserved and underserved—this is non-negotiable if we’re serious about bridging the digital divide. DOGE could serve as a powerful tool to refine and direct BEAD investments where they are truly needed. Lastly, the Universal Service Fund has long been the backbone of connectivity efforts. As we look ahead, USF could be the unifying mechanism that ties these initiatives together, ensuring that our national broadband strategy remains sustainable and forward-thinking.
