Our hearts feel a bit lighter today with the release of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, and many other Americans imprisoned in Russia, as part of the largest East-West prisoner swap since the Cold War. Evan’s release marks a significant moment for press freedom and human rights, reminding us of the critical role journalists play in our democracy. We are grateful to everyone who tirelessly advocated for the release of these detainees and to the diplomatic efforts of President Biden, Vice President Harris, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, and their teams, who made this possible. https://lnkd.in/ewf9f4mP
