This week we are launching a benefit for International Society for the Study of Womens Sexual Health (ISSWSH). 20% of all sales of our new “Morning Bean” benefit mug set will be donated to ISSWSH, and earmarked for their initiatives that help more healthcare providers become women’s sexual health specialists. I hold that all female sexual wellness brands need to understand deeply the women’s health research gap as an important part of the context in which they’re operating. And this belief is a major part of why we are pursuing a benefit fundraiser with ISSWSH. Because we feel obligated to help propel the sexual health sector itself (well, in part because we actually do have a product, soon it will be two products, that do meaningfully advance sexual health solutions, not to be too obnoxious) and also the key stakeholders who will be guiding its evolution: the healthcare providers and the research scientists. And it’s a win-win for us. Because in CPG, we have a special role: we can act nimbly, and more quickly than pharma. And there is so much to advance in the area of female sexual wellness still, without going down the pharma route. We are working to build a company that recognizes this very unique moment in the women’s sexual health space as not only a market opportunity, but a kind of profound time to contribute to the history of women’s health. Anyways, this mug is your HR dept’s worst nightmare. Because of, or in spite of that, consider supporting the advancement of women’s sexual health and get a cute mug while you’re at it. *Morning Bean is the colloquial name for a female morning boner. If I’m ever known for anything, let it be for coming up with this name at the 11th hour. In the mean time… consider buying a mug, heh?

Most physicians lack education on the science of the vulva, including gynecologists. Surprisingly, the human clitoris's nerve count was only discovered in 2023 (Uloko et al), highlighting the neglect of this crucial structure in research. This oversight contributes to high instances of urinary tract infections, chronic pelvic pain, recurrent vaginal infections, and overactive bladder symptoms. Prioritizing vulvar health within the medical community could significantly reduce the prevalence of these diseases. #WomensHealth #MedicalResearch #VulvarHealth

This is one close to our hearts. A couple of weeks ago, we had the honor of donating a portion of February's sales proceeds to the Take Control Initiative, the nation's longest running contraceptive access network, also based—like us—in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Doing this work in Oklahoma has a lot of cons. One being that we're not 'networking' at the same pace as the coastal femtech startups are. "That's why start-ups exist in SF, LA, and NYC," we've been told over and over, "not in the midwest." These same people miss the point of why we are doing what we are doing in the first place. The challenge of femtech is in the conversations that are required in order for people--all people across this entire country—to understand deeply the value of a woman's body. 'Group think' isn't our thing. By operating in the buckle of the Bible Belt, we get to learn HOW to have these conversations in a way that is uniquely difficult, where talking about female sexuality is the hardest. "The person who says it can not be done, should not interrupt the person doing it." We have learned so much about how to talk about these subjects face-to-face with "real Americans," and in turn, are developing a super skill set because of it. And, time will tell, but we're betting on more meaningful, more long-lasting impact because of our geography, not in spite of it. We hope you see this reverberate soon more across our brand as the months unfold. We are proud of what we are building, and where we are building it. Thankfully, the word 'orgasm' is translatable across most, if not all, languages. (Orgasmo! ?????????? Orgazm! ??????? Orgasmus! 性高潮 Orgasme! ??? ??????)
