Last week, South Texas Blood & Tissue (STB&T) together with Velico hosted an inspiring press conference to announce a historic milestone: becoming the first U.S. civilian blood center to install Velico’s FrontlineODP? Spray Dried Plasma System. Through Velico’s Blood Center Education Program (BCEP), STB&T gains early access to this innovative technology, enabling hands-on evaluation for production and providing essential feedback on performance. The event brought together leaders in transfusion medicine, highlighting the revolutionary potential of spray-dried plasma to save lives in emergencies, rural hospitals, military operations, and mass casualty events. His academic research on sensory processing in professional athletes was published in Current Biology and received worldwide recognition.
