The 2025 State Scorecard is out! This year, there were several shakeups in the rankings including: -#Louisiana jumped nine spots, becoming our most improved state. -#Colorado reached the top 10 for the first time. -#NewJersey is back in the top 10 for the first time since 2008. The DC Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU) and Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE) announced today that the District’s Solar for All program will complete 150 no-cost home solar projects for income-qualified residents in DC this year, saving participating families up to $500/year on electricity bills. DC is leading the way in clean energy! The DCSEU, in partnership with the Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE), is expanding the Solar for All program with 150 new solar projects for income-qualified families in FY25. This initiative will: ? Save families up to $500/year on electricity bills ? Support local solar contractors & green jobs ? Reduce greenhouse gas emissions & advance DC’s clean energy goals Since 2019, Solar for All and the DCSEU helped 668 low-to-moderate income single-family households receive rooftop solar power, delivering $6.6M+ in lifetime electricity bill savings! When combined with community solar installations through Solar for All, we’ve helped expand solar access to 11,000+ families, saving $80M+ on electricity bills! This year’s solar projects are be completed by six local contractors and our team is hard at work bringing on more solar contractors to support this year's target, strengthening our clean energy economy. With deep gratitude, we announce a change in our board leadership at VEIC. Ellen Zuckerman has effectively guided the organization as Board Chair since January 2023, and she stepped down at the end of December. Under Ellen's leadership, we achieved significant milestones, including the adoption of our current strategic plan, continued organizational growth, and the launch of our VEIC Culture Statement.
