? Did you know that Benjamin Franklin always wanted the noble turkey to be the national bird of the U.S.? ?? Benjamin Franklin wrote about turkey in a letter to his daughter. ?? In a letter dated January 26, 1784, Franklin wrote about the national bird of the United States, expressing his preference for the turkey over the bald eagle as a symbol of America. He wrote: "For my own part I wish that the Bald Eagle had not been chosen to be the representative of our country. He is a bird of bad moral character. He does not get his life honestly...The sharpshooting among men live by & steal he is generally poor and often very lousy. The turkey is a more esteemed bird, and also a true native of America...he is besides, though a little vain and foolish, is a bird of courage, and will not hesitate to attack a grenadier of the British Guards, who should presume to invade his farm yard with a red coat." It is a pity to slaughter 46 million noble birds this time every year. ?? You can save a turkey’s life and reduce your carbon footprint by choosing to skip turkey this year or switch to a plant-based alternative like a Tofurky roast. #thanksgiving #turkey #foundingfather

?? “'You cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it.” - Albert Einstein In the quest for efficiency, food production has transformed drastically, but it’s also brought about serious challenges: soil degradation, biodiversity loss, and a growing carbon footprint. Now, it’s clear that the same methods that pushed production to its limits can’t be the ones we rely on to heal our land. To repair the damage, we need a new mindset – one that values regeneration over extraction, quality over quantity, and harmony over speed. Regenerative agriculture offers a solution that works with nature rather than against it, focusing on restoring soil health, increasing biodiversity, and capturing carbon from the atmosphere. By rotating crops, reducing chemical inputs, and moving towards a food system that includes diversified proteins, we can give back to the environment rather than take from it. Let's rethink our approach, embrace sustainable practices, and create a food system that respects both people and the planet. ???? #SustainableAgriculture #FoodSystemsTransformation #DiversifiedProteins
