Washington, D.C. - Vegas Chamber President & CEO Mary Beth Sewald and Congressman Jon C. Porter (ret) delivered a letter to the Committee on Education and the Workforce, reinforcing our commitment to strengthening the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) and improving outcomes for Nevada’s workforce. The Vegas Chamber was the first chamber in the nation to host an American Job Center, ensuring that WIOA funds go directly to supporting businesses and job seekers instead of operational expenses. With 27 American Job Centers in Southern Nevada embedded in libraries, colleges, and community centers, over $1.1 million is redirected toward workforce training instead of facility costs. "Strengthening WIOA means improving outcomes for America's workforce. These investments must align with local economic needs and create sustainable career pathways," said Sewald. We continue to advocate for policy solutions that support businesses, job seekers, and Nevada’s economic growth. #VegasChamber #WorkforceDevelopment #WIOA #BusinessAdvocacy #EconomicGrowth
