Exciting news from the recent International MBE Conference 2024 in Matsue, Japan! Imec's Dr. Marina Baryshnikova presented a groundbreaking investigation of Barium Titanate (BaTiO3) heteroepitaxy and electro-optical properties in a collaboration between imec and Veeco. The team has discovered optimal growth conditions for high material quality and process consistency using traditional MBE and hybrid MOCVD/MBE techniques. They are now working on upscaling this technology towards BaTiO3 on 300mm silicon wafers for high-volume manufacturing, targeting next-gen optical transceivers, LiDAR, and quantum computing.
