Congratulations to Patrick Hsu, the team at the Arc Institute, and collaborators on Evo 2. This powerful tool will enable scientists across multiple disciplines?to gain a deeper understanding of biological complexities.?
Introducing Evo 2, the largest AI model for biology to date, enabling machines to read, write, and think in the language of life itself. Trained on 9.3 trillion nucleotides from over 128 thousand archaeal, prokaryotic, and eukaryotic genomes, Evo 2’s deep understanding of biological code means that it can identify patterns in gene sequences across disparate organisms that experimental researchers would need years to uncover. The model can accurately identify disease-causing mutations in human genes and is capable of designing new genomes that are as long as the genomes of simple bacteria. We kicked things off with a fun cooking class—whipping up delicious dishes and sharing plenty of laughs. ?????? And what’s a holiday celebration without some festive fashion? Our ugly sweater contest had everyone bringing their A-game. From glittering reindeer to pom-pom covered snowmen, the creativity was truly on display! ??????
