A reminder from our furry friend, Dickie, about feline teeth! Did you know that your cat's teeth need regular TLC too? Dental problems in cats can lead to pain, bad breath, and even serious health issues! Regular checkups and at-home care can help keep those pearly whites (pearly fangs) in top shape. Because let’s face it—your cat’s “meow” deserves to be as sweet as their smile. ???? #FelineDentistry #CatCare #HealthyTeeth #PetWellness #vdspets #vetdental

?? Just like us, our pets need proper dental care to maintain overall health. It's easy to overlook, but dental health plays a crucial role in your pet's longevity and quality of life.?? Here's why it matters: 1. Prevents Pain & Discomfort: Gum disease, tooth decay, and infections can cause severe pain for pets. Regular dental care helps prevent these issues and keeps your furry friend comfortable. 2. Improves Overall Health: Poor dental hygiene can lead to infections that spread to vital organs like the heart, liver, and kidneys, potentially causing more serious health concerns. 3. Enhances Quality of Life: Healthy teeth and gums contribute to better eating habits and prevent bad breath that can make cuddles less pleasant. It also makes their vet visits smoother and less stressful. 4. It's Preventative: Our pets need regular checkups like us! Brushing their teeth, providing dental chews, and scheduling professional cleanings with your vet can help catch issues early and avoid expensive treatments down the road. Sometimes, this means seeking specialized care. Veterinary Dental Specialties & Oral Surgery (VDS) provides expert dental care for pets with more complex issues. Our specialists ensure your pet gets the best treatment, keeping it happy and healthy. Let's keep those tails wagging by prioritizing dental health for our pets! ???? ?? : Toby #PetCare #PetDentalHealth #HealthyPets #Wellness #vdspets #SpecializedCare #FurryFriends

New changes to be aware of for the #vtne process.
??Big changes to the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) process are here. Candidates can now take the VTNE earlier, application windows have expanded, and the process has been streamlined. But while these modifications could make credentialing more accessible, some veterinary organizations have raised concerns about readiness, security, and long-term impacts on the profession. Are these changes a step forward, or do they pose new challenges? We’d love to hear your insights. ?? Dive into the full Trends article to see the full discussion: https://hubs.li/Q03694_K0

?? Transforming Lives: Jack’s Journey to a Pain-Free Life ?? A few weeks ago, 17-year-old Jack Gergen came to our Veterinary Dental Specialties & Oral Surgery (VDS) #Austin practice, suffering from a painful tooth root abscess. Given his age, his owners were understandably concerned about putting him under general anesthesia but were committed to doing what was best for him. After thorough pre-operative diagnostics and careful consideration of Dr. McNally’s recommendations, they decided to proceed with surgery. Under the expert care of Sergio Hernandez, Jack underwent a full dental extraction to remove his remaining teeth and eliminate his discomfort. Today, the Gergen family brought Jack in for his post-operative recheck, and their joy was palpable. They shared how he’s like a brand-new dog—happier, more energetic, and doing even better than they had imagined. They also left us a heartfelt note expressing their gratitude, which we’ve attached. Stories like Jack’s remind us why we do what we do. Helping pets live pain-free, happier lives is our mission's heart. Thank you to the Gergen family for trusting us with Jack’s care! ???? #VeterinaryCare #PainFreePets #HappyTails #SeniorDogCare Leslie Sirmons Amariah V.
