This award came as a delightful surprise, and immensely appreciated. Our team consistently strives to deliver top-notch quality and timely service to our customers. Since the start of our projects with Cummins 15 years ago, we have been part of the North America SQA (Supplier Quality Assurance) group, working closely with our contacts to develop various projects. In 2023, we embarked on a journey to transition to the Latin America group, based in Mexico. We look forward to continuing our journey of delivering excellence and achieving new heights!?? We're excited to share that the son of one of our colleagues from the VCST Minerva (VCST's electrification unit) team recently won the Sasol Solar challenge with his competing team. This is a South African endurance challenge for solar-powered vehicles. It is recognized by the International Solarcar Federation and has been held every two years since its inception in 2008. The Innoptus Solar Team's car crossed the finish line first in Cape Town after a grueling race of over 4,000 kilometers. "It was 8 tough days," said team president Emma Stalmans. "But it was totally worth it." This is not the first victory for the team, as the engineering students also snagged the world title in Australia last October and set a world record in 2023. Winning the Sasol Solar Challenge was the missing piece in their trophy collection. This race is no joke – it's known as the most extreme solar car race because of the big altitude changes, hectic traffic, unpredictable weather, and the sheer length of the race. After 8 days and more than 4,000 kilometers, the team came out on top with an 80-kilometer lead. This event not only highlights the importance of sustainable energy solutions but also inspires the next generation of engineers to push the boundaries of technology and innovation. We are thrilled to share that our VCST plant in Romania has recently made significant investments in new machinery, just before the summer. These investments are part of our ongoing commitment to remain at the forefront of the industry by continuously enhancing our technological capabilities. Among the new additions is a state-of-the-art milling machine. This versatile machine allows us to process larger gears and modules, which we previously couldn't handle in-house. As we are expanding our focus to medium and heavy commercial vehicles, this change was necessary. The machine is able to work on multiple gears using a single tool, significantly boosting our production efficiency. We have also introduced separate machines for power honing and shot peening. Additionally, we upgraded an existing grinding machine to be able to perform polish grinding. These advancements enable us to perform processes in-house that were not possible before, further strengthening our production capabilities.???? At VCST, we are dedicated to investing in new technologies to ensure we remain top-notch in the industry. The in-house software development let's them simulate any environment with unmatched flexibility and precision. Picture this: a customer is developing a car with two powertrains. We can physically test one powertrain while simulating the other on our testrig. This combined approach ensures we capture real-life acceleration and performance metrics as if both powertrains were running in the car.
