When you interact with an individual or group of listeners, the goal is to speak conversationally. Know your material, but don't memorize it. Knowing your material allows the message to flow seamlessly, because you're familiar with it, and YOU understand it. Now comes the fun. Help YOUR audience understand it in a way that's meaningful and important to them. Doing this will keep you genuine, authentic, and sincere.

The quality of your message matters more than the quantity does. We live in a world overrun with noise. Throwing everything into your talk makes for a longer talk, and an audience that's overwhelmed in the process of comprehending. Tell your audience what you're going to tell them. Tell them. Practice looks different for everybody. No matter who you are, we urge you to refrain from the lengthier, last-minute prep sessions. These long cram sessions cause significantly more stress. Breaking the preparation into manageable chunks allows us to not only uncover more within our content, but also make it more appealing to the audience. The task of presentation design is daunting for many; this method allows us to bring a fresh mindset each time we revisit the project and avoid burnout!

There are many different ways to get any message across. Effective communication is being able to decide which method is right for each audience or form of content. We must focus just as much on the "how" when we present information as we do on the "what" in order to ensure full retention.

"Fluff" is the main reason our emails do not get read. We define fluff as any terminology that is repetitive, or could have been removed. Very few people have the time in their day to read a 3-page email. Analyze places that you can "trim the excess" and simply provide your purpose and information.
