On March 17th, the Virginia Undergraduate Law Review is thrilled to be hosting Professor Corinna Barrett Lain from the University of Richmond School of Law. Professor Lain will be discussing her forthcoming book, "Secrets of the Killing State: The Untold Story of Lethal Injection." This will be a great opportunity for students to engage with a timely legal and ethical topic from an expert in the field. All students are welcome to attend, and Mellow Mushroom pizza will be provided. We hope to see you there!

Today, three of our members had the chance to present their legal research to students in ???????????????????? ?????? ????. This tradition serves as an amazing opportunity for our Staff Writers to share their hard work, hone their public speaking skills, and raise awareness regarding important legal issues. Fourth-Year Merrill Hart discussed the recent decision in ???????? ???? ???????????? ???????? ??. ????????????? and the relevance of Eighth Amendment protections to homelessness case law. This was Merrill's first semester in VAULR, and since joining, she has proven to be an incredible team member and a passionate legal scholar. Merrill's article will be available in our forthcoming Fall 2024 publication, and we encourage everyone to read Merrill's full article when it comes out. In her presentation, Katherine Hu reprised and updated her past research on war crime commission in Yemen, motivating the establishment of an ad hoc special court to address relevant violations of international humanitarian law and customary international law. Katherine wrote this piece for our Spring 2024 publication, and currently serves on VAULR's Executive Board as Director of Operations. Finally, Chloe Pfefferman, in her very first semester as a Staff Writer, shared her research on how the recent decision in ?????????? ??. ?????????????? ??????????'?? ??????????? ???????????????????????? affects incarcerated women, who cannot use their Constitutional right to interstate travel to circumvent new restrictive state bans on abortion. Chloe's article, which will be available in our forthcoming issue, is highly profound and well-researched, and we can't wait to see what she does next! VAULR extends many thanks to Professor Sherri Moore, our faculty sponsor, for hosting these presentations and continually supporting VAULR's members and mission.
