Conversations: Se Young Au and Hyungi Park Two artists we deeply admire, both exploring the craft of scent in their own distinct ways. Se Young Au, of our ongoing?Transmissions?series, is a multi-disciplinary artist navigating the pervasiveness of loss and sublimity in the natural world, redirecting that grief as an act of radical defiance and hope. Hyungi Park works as an artist, incense maker, bookbinder, tattooer, and designer. Together, they collaborated on our new?? (Moon)?incense, a custom scent and ritual intended to foster creativity and inspiration. Case Study: Flagstaff Fadeaway Hosted at the acclaimed High Country Motor Lodge, the inaugural?Flagstaff Fadeaway?was a one-day cosmic country music festival that took place September 30, 2023 and benefited the?Glen Canyon Institute. The event boasted a remarkable lineup of?Color Green, Sylvie, The Senators, Spencer Cullum + Rich Ruth, and Kacy & Clayton, transporting festival-goers through a sonic menagerie of country, folk, and psychedelic twang to create a once in a lifetime music and hospitality experience in the high desert of North Arizona. Highlighting a boutique hotel destination off Route 66 and the existing hospitality brand’s visual language, we built a bespoke festival aesthetic from head to toe to compliment the existing singular look that makes up the High Country Motor Lodge. https://lnkd.in/ggfkCMrz

Conversations: Cody Hudson We had the pleasure of speaking with Cody Hudson about developing a language of art, the soundtrack of his studio, and becoming friends with color. In his book Selected Universal Portals, Hudson assembled dozens of works completed between 2014 and 2023. The collection includes paintings, sculptures, and large-scale site-specific installations and murals informed as much by his interior reflections as by his external surroundings. The combined works embrace a strong sense of narrative yet retain a sensation of mystery.
