Yesterday, we celebrated the conclusion of Z&M Harley-Davidson's 9th annual Reason-to-Ride, which raised more than $33,000 for Variety to give even more local kids with disabilities new-found freedom! With our partners from BLACKBURN'S, we presented 12 adaptive bikes and 2 adaptive strollers to Westmoreland and Indiana County children, and we were grateful to have TribLIVE there to capture the joy! For 10 years now, the Allegheny-Fayette County Labor Council has made it possible for Variety kids to ride their adaptive bikes in one of the nation's largest parades - truly showing their abilities to the world! Every year, the Labor Day Parade in downtown Pittsburgh has created an abundance of memories, smiles, and belonging for the kids and families, as well as the community-at-large! There was a lot to celebrate last Thursday, as we presented bikes #3,000 & #3,001 to Jude and Paisley, and reaching one historic milestone that we never dreamed possible when My Bike? began. Even more special, we got to present the history-making bikes alongside our My Bike? Program founding sponsor, Highmark Inc. and our incredible mobility partners, BLACKBURN'S - both of whom have been instrumental to our impact! ?? Come out to support your PA lawmakers as they play together -- House and Senate, Republicans and Democrats, men and women -- as the Yinz and the Youse.
