Yesterday, VTA launched a cable and digital news campaign urging President Donald Trump and his administration to uphold their promise to save the flavored vaping industry and the thousands of small businesses the industry supports. It runs this week during key programming slots on Fox News, Fox Business, and Newsmax. Executive Director, Tony Abboud said, “Vaper voters, who turned out by the hundreds of thousands to support then-candidate Trump, have given President Trump a mandate to keep the promise he made and protect the thousands of small businesses and Americans that rely on vaping products.” Read our full release and watch the ad here: https://lnkd.in/eghPqdcd

Christian Josi in Opinion Pages: “The new administration must take notice: Big Tobacco is leveraging its money and influence to dominate the American e-cigarette market through fear-mongering and hypocritical arguments. E-cigarettes have the potential to transform the tobacco landscape in the U.S. They should be American-made—but not exclusively by Big Tobacco.” https://lnkd.in/gPMmSUmr

Lisa Ciarlone in the DC Journal: “E-cigarettes represent a consumer-driven revolution in harm reduction. If Trump is serious about supporting American innovation and job creation, he must address the FDA’s regulatory barriers and reinvigorate the industry. Millions of adults rely on flavored vapor products to stay smoke-free, and they are waiting for leadership to restore what made vaping a viable alternative in the first place.” https://lnkd.in/efmBv3wA

Lindsey Stroud in The Washington Times: “Weaponizing the DOJ to limit flavored e-cigarettes reflects a fundamental misallocation of resources and misunderstanding of public health needs. Addressing the fentanyl epidemic and adopting science-driven policies would far better protect public health than bureaucratic inefficiency and misplaced enforcement.” https://lnkd.in/eq4qTnZr

New Hampshire State Rep. James Spillane in New Hampshire Union Leader: “As a lawmaker with insight into our budget, I have witnessed the consequences firsthand. My message to Donald Trump is clear: bans don’t work and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is long overdue for significant reform.” https://lnkd.in/enXsSrJR

Tim Andrews in The Washington Times: “Trump and RFK Jr. must address this systemic failure by the agency responsible for protecting public health. Since their introduction, e-cigarettes and other reduced-risk products have helped millions worldwide quit smoking, contributing to sharp declines in smoking rates and driving economic growth through job creation and potential tax revenue.” https://lnkd.in/d7rkG67U
