If it's one thing I've learned as a data & analytics citizen in my career, it's that the times and tools are always changing. In the data engineering space, I have gone from in-database PL/SQL to on-prem tools like Informatica PowerCenter and then on to the cloud with apps like AWS Glue & Lambda. If you want to play in this space, you must be adaptable to what's best for your clients, as well as stay ahead of the game with what the industry is innovating into next. Over the holiday, I put some time in to picking up a new technology to add to the toolbox. dltHub is a rock-solid data movement platform that JUST WORKS! Easy to learn. Easy to use. Open source. Strong community. It's a great compliment to teams that are on a mission to build a data lake, as well as other data movement intensive solutions.
