We love to start the new year off with great news! We love to welcome Sarita Metzger MD MPH as our newest Medical Director in our Philadelphia office. Sarita Metzger MD MPH is a board certified psychiatrist with clinical experience working at multiple levels of care including crisis care. Her practice has focused on psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and transcranial magnetic stimulation for individuals with severe mental illness and individuals with comorbid mental health and substance use disorders. Dr. Metzger obtained her Masters in Public Health with a focus on advocacy from George Washington University and was inducted into the Public Health Honor Society. She completed her psychiatry residency and Community/Public Psychiatry fellowship training at the University of Pennsylvania where she co-founded the Cultural Psychiatry Certificate program.?Dr. Metzger continues as faculty champion of the program and is Director of the Cultural Psychiatry Course at Upenn. She is dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations and the clinicians that serve them through various activities including: leading anti-racism groups for non-profits, lecturing locally and nationally on LGBTQ+ mental health care considerations, and serving on the board of the Pennsylvania Society of Addiction Medicine. We are so lucky to have her join the team and can't wait to see what great work she will do!
