We are thrilled to announce our Van ISD Teachers of the Year for 2023-2024!!! ?? ?? Today, we had the honor of surprising five of our incredible educators with a well-deserved recognition. Each of these teachers were surprised with a bouquet of flowers arranged by our Van High School Floral Design students, a yard sign, a plaque, and a $1,000 check from the Van ISD Education Foundation!!!!! ?? Mrs. Kelli Airheart put it best, when commenting on why she travels over 30 minutes each day for work, when she said, "A school that is alive is worth the drive." ?? We are extremely thankful for the dedication and love each of them show to our students every day, and we are proud to have them on #TeamVISD!!! #WeAreVan

Congratulations to Van ISD's First Year Teacher Academy (FYTA) participants! ???? ?? This week concluded a series of ongoing professional learning and collaboration, growing participants' instructional toolkits for effective teaching. This great crop of teachers were celebrated and congratulated for the fantastic jobs they are doing each and every day in serving our Vandal learners!! ?? Our district Academic Leadership Mentoring Team also joined in the celebration and learning, supporting their mentee as they have done throughout the school year. ?? A BIG thank you goes out to our mentoring team for their continued dedication and commitment. Their wealth of knowledge and expertise has provided a great welcome to Vandal Land for our newest group of teachers! #TeamVISD is the place to be! ???? #WeAreVan

While students had the day off on Monday, our teachers were busy learning about the new trends in STEAM learning and educational technology at our annual Minicon event! ?? ?? Featured presenters included Van ISD teachers and students, as well as some representatives from educational technology companies. In addition to Van ISD employees, this event was open to educators from surrounding school districts and aspiring educators at local colleges.
