Interesting study on food waste bans - five states were analyzed, and Massachusetts' waste ban was found to be the most successful! ?? "By changing businesses’ behavior, researchers found, Massachusetts also significantly lowered its methane emissions, which fell about 25 percent per ton of disposed waste in the post-ban years." Goodrich Family Farm, located in Salisbury, Vermont, hosts an anaerobic digester in partnership with Vanguard Renewables and Vermont Gas Systems (VGS). Built in 2019, the project has two 925,430-gallon anaerobic digesters, producing RNG and beneficial agricultural byproducts for on-farm use. Middlebury College purchases much of the facility’s output as part of Middlebury’s Energy2028, a 10-year commitment to shift completely to renewable energy to power its central campus. ?
