If your school requires Turabian style, you don’t need to worry about the latest Chicago Manual of Style edition—at least for now. Turabian is a simplified version of Chicago, and while Chicago has released its 18th edition with big updates, Turabian is still on its 9th edition. The secret to writing a killer conclusion: 1. Don’t just repeat your introduction Your reader already saw your introduction—no need to copy-paste it! Instead, sum up your main points in a fresh way. Think of it like reminding a friend about the best parts of a movie. 2. Answer the “So what?” question Your reader shouldn’t finish your paper and think, “Okay… and?” Your conclusion should explain why your work matters. How does it connect to the real world? Make it clear and meaningful! 3. Keep it short and powerful A conclusion isn’t the place to start new arguments or ramble. Think of it like a mic-drop moment—short, strong, and to the point. End with impact! 4. End with a thought-provoking statement Want to leave a strong impression? Ask a question, share a powerful quote, or suggest a next step. Give your reader something to think about after they’re done reading. 5. Make it sound confident Your last words matter! Avoid weak phrases like “In conclusion” or “That’s all I have to say.” Instead, close with confidence—like you truly believe in your work. This is exactly how to avoid plagiarism on your paper. 1. Understand What Counts as Plagiarism Plagiarism isn’t just copying word-for-word. It includes: ? Using someone’s idea without credit ? Paraphrasing without citing ? Submitting work that isn’t entirely yours 2. Cite Your Sources Properly Whenever you use someone else’s work, cite it! ?? Use the correct format (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.) ?? Quote directly when using exact words ?? If you paraphrase give credit 3. Paraphrase Without Losing Meaning Don’t just swap words—rewrite in your own words while maintaining accuracy. ? Wrong: Changing a few words but keeping the structure ? Example: This study explores how social media affects students’ academic performance. That’s it—no fluff! 2. What is the problem?? ?Why does your research matter? What issue are you addressing?
