Vanderweil is a mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, technology, sustainability, commissioning, and power engineering firm dedicated to providing customized and innovative engineering solutions through excellent client service. We have designed MEP/FP systems for buildings of all types and sizes, as well as cogeneration plants up to 50 MW, chilled water plants up to 100,000 tons, hundreds of miles of transmission lines up to 345 kV, and utility grade substations up to 1,000 MVA. We seek to create engineering designs that reflect and support our client’s project goals for program functionality, quality and maintenance, aesthetics, environmental impact, occupant comfort and health, space use, performance, and cost. We achieve this through close collaboration with our clients and fellow team members. Sustainability is a core value at Vanderweil. Congratulations to the project team for the new David Mindess Elementary School in #Ashland, MA, that was recognized with an Honor Award by AIA Central Massachusetts! This 105,000 sf, state-of-the-art facility supports 635 students (Grades 3-5) with modern, flexible learning spaces and a focus on occupant and environmental well-being. Vanderweil Engineers contributed MEP/FP engineering and technology design. The building is heated and cooled using an energy efficient ground-source heat pump system and was designed to accept a future rooftop PV array making it net-zero ready! ? Vanderweil Engineers partnered with project architect, Perkins Eastman, on Rutgers University's Athletic Performance Center, a four-story, 140,000 sf athletics facility for basketball, wrestling, and gymnastics as well as wellness programs that include nutrition, sports medicine, and hydrotherapy. Today, we celebrated placing the final beam at the highest point on our new sustainable building in Kendall Square. This innovative space prioritizes environmental sustainability and will be home to a purpose-built research and development facility to deliver life-transforming therapies for patients.
