We are incredibly grateful to Empire State Development Commissioner Hope Knight and New York State Office of General Services Jeanette Moy for organizing a tour in downtown Albany. This visit allowed us to connect with small businesses and hear directly from owners about how Governor Kathy Hochul’s $400 million funding for the Championing Albany’s Potential (CAP) initiative can drive positive change in our District. We also want to thank the small business owners who opened their doors to state officials and shared their insights on the challenges and opportunities ahead. This marks the largest investment in downtown Albany's history, and today's tour served as an important starting point to ensure our community's voice is heard in guiding how these funds will be used to support small businesses, attract new ones to the District, and create a more vibrant city for residents, visitors, and employees alike. Be sure to follow the BID, Empire State Development, and OGS to stay informed about the next steps in transforming this vision into a sustainable plan for long-term growth.

Vanderheyden was honored to attend the annual Lobby Day of the Council of Family and Child Caring Agencies (COFCCA) on Monday. We are so very grateful to the elected officials who met with us alongside many incredible nonprofits from across New York State to discuss the proposed 7.8% rate increase across the human services sector in addition to the many challenges faced in the human services workforce.
