Our project team at the Larry Ellison Conservation Center for Wildlife Care was on hand for two owl releases at the newly completed facility. The owls were rehabilitated by our partners at the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA and released in the mountains above Saratoga. Amazing collaborative team on the EVGR project. We embraced the challenge of prefabrication and speed on the largest project ever completed at Stanford University.
Fewer workers and less equipment on site results in less congestion and a smaller construction footprint, critical for projects in an active campus environment. Take the Stanford University Escondido Village Graduate Residences project as a prime example. A few key facts: ? The prefabricated structure and enclosure of this 1.8 Million square foot residential student housing complex was designed, manufactured, and installed by Clark Pacific. ? The structural floor decks are pre-topped, meaning they don't have any cast-in-place concrete topping. ? The panelized exterior fa?ade is not only a beautiful expression of the architectural style of the surrounding campus but also consists of special reinforced concrete moment frames, the building’s seismic force resisting system (the part of the structure that keeps the building standing during an earthquake). ? As can be seen in the video, the windows in the exterior wall panels were preinstalled in Clark Pacific’s factory. ? The buildings received a US Resiliency Council Gold Rating for their superior seismic performance. ? 70,000 worker days were moved offsite. ? The construction schedule was accelerated by 6 months.
