The Healthy Living Expo at Catasauqua Middle School was a huge success! ?? With 9 schools, over 20 organizations, and around 300 students attending, the energy was incredible. Here’s a glimpse at what made the day unforgettable: ?? Therapy dogs brought smiles all around. ?? Driving simulators let students test their skills. ?? A picture booth, face painting, and a DJ kept the fun going! Students also got hands-on with: ?? Action Karate demonstrations. ?? Push-ups with the National Guard. ?? Life-saving skills from Northampton Regional EMS. ?? College chats with LCCC. ?? Conversations with organizations like Treatment Trends, United Way, CHC, and of course, VYH! A HUGE congratulations to our hopekeeper Leanne and her team for hosting such a fantastic event. Your hard work and dedication are truly inspiring. ?? Valley Youth House is thrilled to announce a $400,000 contribution from Penntex Construction Company, Inc. through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program! This incredible support will enhance our STEM and arts programs at Camp Fowler, our therapeutic and adventure-based camp in Orefield, PA. But that's not all – Penntex is also donating their expertise as the construction management partner for the Carter Family Center, a state-of-the-art recreation and education facility set to open in Spring 2025. This 5,000-square-foot space will provide dynamic opportunities for campers to heal, grow, and connect. ?? “Penntex has long been a champion for youth in our region. On November 20, we honor Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR), a day to remember the lives lost to anti-transgender violence and prejudice worldwide. This day is a rallying point for the transgender community and allies to mourn, reflect, and renew our commitment to justice and equality. At Valley Youth House, we stand as a safe and affirming space for LGBTQ+ youth to access critical housing, mental health, and physical health resources. Our doors are open to support and uplift the transgender and gender nonconforming community, especially during Transgender Awareness Month—a time to celebrate their strength, educate ourselves, and advocate for inclusivity and acceptance. Let’s come together to honor, learn, and build a world where all gender identities are celebrated and protected.
