Each day, our healthcare professionals go above and beyond—holding hands in difficult moments, celebrating victories, and offering reassurance. "From the moment you walk in the front door everyone is so friendly and helpful. They treat me like family. The infusion team really goes the extra mile. " - In memory of Karen Jones, you will be greatly missed. Karen wanted to give a big thank you to her 'angels in scrubs' at Valley for everything they've done throughout her care. Share a message of gratitude during our Honor a Caregiver campaign and your caregiver will receive your note and a special pin. https://lnkd.in/eCx_Xjqq

Save lives and empower your health! In recognition of Red Cross Month, all individuals who successfully give blood, platelets, or plasma in March will be offered a free Hemoglobin A1C screening (commonly used to screen for prediabetes and diabetes). Learn more by visiting their website and sign up for an appointment here: https://lnkd.in/eWCVnDWB Please note: The red cross will be on-site at Valley on Thursday, March 27 from 9am-1:30pm.
These statistics are alarming but true. According to the CDC: ? 8.7 million people in the U.S. are living with undiagnosed diabetes. ? Approximately 80% of people with prediabetes are unaware they have it. Unmanaged diabetes can cause serious health concerns. This month, we’re expanding our health offerings with free A1C testing for all who successfully give blood through March 31. Gain valuable information about your blood sugar levels over the past three months by making an appointment to donate blood: https://rdcrss.org/4i8f3nk

Last Friday, 2/7, was National WEAR RED DAY to raise awareness of Women's No. 1 killer - cardiovascular disease, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. Cardiovascular disease impacts some women at higher rates than others, but the simple truth is that most cardiovascular diseases can still be prevented with education and healthy lifestyle changes. In addition, it's also American Heart Month! Heart disease and stroke can affect a woman at any age, making it vital for all women to understand their personal risk factors and family history. Losing even one woman to cardiovascular disease is too many. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eFkMDVD7

There's a terrific sense of community here in northern New England, and that care of our communities is why we're here and why Dartmouth Health is based here. It's something I witness every day and never take for granted. I see it in our community hospitals providing care close to home, and especially in how we engage beyond our hospital walls. We know that health is shaped by everyday factors like food security, housing, and education. That's why our partnerships with local non-profits matter so much. We'll never waver from our commitment to these communities and to supporting the vital organizations that serve our region. It's who we are and why we're here.
