Ensuring access to care for those living with a life-limiting illness through our commitment to Caring. Living. Healing.
关于我们
Since 1985, Valley Hospice has been committed to providing excellent end-of life care for our family, friends and neighbors throughout the Ohio Valley. Our care based on the unique values, end-of-life goals and wishes of each person we serve. We care for patients at home, in nursing facilities or wherever they call home. Our caring staff is specially trained to help patients live life to the fullest with dignity while encouraging spiritual and emotional healing. We are proud to offer programs that set us apart from other hospices: “A Hero’s Salute” specialized end-of-life care and support to patients who have served in the military; “A Plan for Living” advanced directives program; “Whispered Wishes,” a program that grants end of-life wishes; “Meaningful Moments, resources for individuals and families dealing with dementia; and “Bobby’s Books,” using books to help build a child’s coping skills. Valley Hospice also offers the area’s only inpatient care centers: Valley Hospice Mary Jane Brooks Care Center North, in Steubenville and Valley Hospice Liza’s Place Care Center South, in Wheeling. To us, every patient is the most important patient! Anyone call call our referral center, at 740-859-5660, for more information.

Valley Hospice patient, Joseph Burkhart, has shared years of love and happy memories with his long-time partner Evalyne. Last month, our team had the honor of helping them celebrate their love for each other through a commitment ceremony. They declared their love for one another surrounded by their closest family and friends. It was a beautiful day filled with love and laughter. Many members of our local community and Valley Hospice staff members donated their time and talents to make this day special for Joseph and Evalyne. Paige Martin, from Paige Colleen Photography, served as the photographer for the day. Dannette Harris, Valley Hospice Bereavement Coordinator, created beautiful flower arrangements. Elevated Events provided a backdrop and Ashley McCallister from Altered Images Hair and Nail Salon styled the bride’s hair. Chef, Stephanie Davis, baked the bride and groom their favorite German chocolate cake. The special couple also received personalized engraved champagne glasses, a spectacular meal and beautiful decorations. We are so incredibly thankful for the support of everyone who helped with this very special wish! This celebration was made possible, in part, by the Valley Hospice Whispered Wishes Program, a program that grants end-of-life wishes to our patients. This program is run solely on donations and would not be possible without the support of our generous community! To learn more about Whispered Wishes, visit our website at https://lnkd.in/eyNwCik9.

Every November, we are thankful for the opportunity to gather our staff to celebrate National Hospice and Palliative Care Month. We share breakfast, share stories that connect us to our organizational mission, celebrate employees for years of service and award our yearly Dove Award. The Dove Award is a long-standing tradition at Valley Hospice. Employees nominate their peers based on commitment to our company values: Teamwork, Integrity, Performance, Spirituality, Mission Focus and Engagement. A panel of past Dove Award winners then selects this current year's winner. Congratulations to this years winner, Scott Roach, RN on our Nursing Facility Team! We had a wonderful morning spending time together, recharging our minds, bodies and spirits, while celebrating the work we do for our patients and their families.
