We are so excited to introduce our 2025 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Champion for the Central Valley, Sylus! Sylus is 10 years old and loves telling jokes, playing Roblox games, water skiing and many other activities. Born with spina bifida, a condition that impacts the spine, Sylus underwent major surgeries shortly after birth and continues to overcome challenges related to mobility and other health issues. With the expert care he receives from Valley Children's Healthcare and donor-funded programs like Adaptive Sports, he enjoys an active and adventurous lifestyle. We would like to thank The NASIM RAD HOPE FOUNDATION and their board of directors for their generous donation of $10,000 to benefit Valley Children's Healthcare Oncology and Hematology patients and families. The Nasim Rad Hope Foundation was established as a nonprofit in memory of Nasim Rad, who passed away in 2013 from Leukemia. The Foundation was formed and has been fundraising for childhood cancer patients since 2015, raising more than $107,000. We are so grateful to Nasim's family and friends for their continued support and for helping to make a difference in the lives of our patients and families. Last month, owners Bobby and Marco launched The Station BBQ with a mission to support those unable to be home for the holidays. To give back, they committed to donating 10% of their proceeds during their opening month to Valley Children's Healthcare Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program. Recently members of the California State University, Fresno Sigma Chi Fraternity, Epsilon Eta chapter gathered for a check presentation at Valley Children's Hospital to celebrate their fundraising during 2024 Derby Days.
