It's an exciting week for the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI) in Washington D.C. Yesterday, our CEO, Brian Anderson, MD met with members of Congress and legislators to discuss bottom-up, industry led self-regulation of AI in health. In these meetings, we discussed CHAI’s ongoing efforts to help ensure health AI safety, security, and the trust required to accelerate innovation. Today, we are hosting our inaugural CHAI on the Hill Day where participants are hearing about real-world applications of predictive and generative AI from industry leaders and developers, receiving insight from Congressional staffers, and experiencing interactive demos that showcase the impact of these technologies on care pathways. #HealthcareOnLinkedIn #AI #AIPolicy

Back in 2017, a very smart person I knew said that despite being steeped in Silicon Valley tech culture, he didn’t feel the need to learn computer programming. He predicted that within a decade, there would be graphical or plain-language interfaces that anyone could use to complete software development tasks. The inaugural Ochsner Insight: Data and Analytics conference was a resounding success, gathering over 200 attendees from diverse teams, including partners. The event boasted a robust agenda with 22 sessions and 32 speakers, encompassing topics on Ochsner Data Analytics Strategy, Executive Sessions on Organizational Strategy, and Industry perspectives, intertwined with intentional networking breaks. It was a day filled with learning, sharing, and fun. Health Sector Publishes Medical Product Manufacturing Cyber Incident Response Playbook with a November 14 webinar ? The Healthcare and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council (HSCC) Joint Cybersecurity Working Group today published a playbook to guide response to cyber incidents impacting medical product manufacturing and its operational technology (OT).?The publication is available on the HSCC website at https://lnkd.in/dNeFw-WX What the Playbook Does The MPM-CIRP (“Playbook”) provides step-by-step recommendations and processes for medical product manufacturers (principally medical device and pharmaceutical companies) to use in identifying and responding to manufacturing cyber incidents, from preparation through remediation. The recommendations and procedures are tailored to be applicable across organizations of various sizes and types and to provide a basic platform that organizations may use or adapt according to their own needs.?This Playbook is meant to serve as a starting point—or accelerator—for companies to create and tailor their own internal playbooks for their specific circumstances.?A portion of this product also demonstrates resourcefulness, in that it adapted its guidance from a similar effort done by the American Public Power Association in 2019. The authors accordingly give acknowledgement to that cross-pollinating critical infrastructure support. About the HSCC Joint Cybersecurity Working Group The Health Sector Coordinating Council (HSCC) Joint Cybersecurity Working Group (JCWG) is a government-recognized critical infrastructure industry council of more than 470 healthcare providers, pharmaceutical and medical technology companies, payers, health IT entities and government agencies partnering to identify and mitigate cyber threats to health data and research, systems, manufacturing and patient care. The JCWG membership collaboratively develops and publishes free healthcare cybersecurity leading practices and policy recommendations and produces outreach and communications programs emphasizing the imperative that cyber safety is patient safety.
