For Arianna Criscione, sport has always been about more than only performance on the field. From her career as a professional footballer to her work as an entrepreneur, Arianna exemplifies leadership in her pursuit of equality, innovation and opportunity within the sporting world. During her time at PSG, where she trained both as a goalkeeper and as a sponsorship manager, Arianna developed a deep understanding of the similarities between sporting excellence and business strategy. Building on this experience, she founded Valeur, a business dedicated to "leveling the playing field in the sports industry by tackling pay and opportunity inequities head-on". ?? Introducing Our Anchors of Belonging in Sports Organisations Framework! ?? We are thrilled to launch our new "Anchors of Belonging Framework" designed specifically for those working in sport. Built on our research here in the Centre for Social Justice in Sport and Society, Carnegie School Of Sport, this framework highlights four key pillars that drive a sense of belonging for individuals who work in sport (as coaches, officials, governance, and administration). There are 4 key tenets of belonging that we have gleaned from our body of research into inclusive sports workforces. In this infographic, we define each of these concepts with central questions to prompt reflection as to how you are supporting those who work in your sports organisations: ?? Feeling Seen – Recognising individuals’ unique contributions and experiences, fostering representation and inclusion across all roles. ?? Feeling Heard – Empowering employees to share their ideas, influence change, and engage in open dialogue in safe, supported spaces. ?? Feeling Known – Understanding each employee as a unique individual, with opportunities for diverse connections and holistic support beyond work. ?? Feeling Valued – Creating a supportive culture where everyone feels respected, accepted, and celebrated for their authentic selves, with clear opportunities for growth.
