Meet Reagan Jetter, Engineer Trainee (ET) at Valaris!
In June 2024, Reagan graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy with a degree in Marine Engineering. During her studies, she gained hands-on experience working on container ships, tankers, and commercial vessels, with her longest hitch lasting 111 days at sea. Though she always stayed open to opportunities, she never could have imagined where her career path would lead. "If you had told me in high school that I’d be here today, I wouldn’t have believed it. Learning about Valaris at a career fair changed everything; the company’s openness to teaching and supportive culture really stood out to me," Reagan recalls.

As part of Valaris’ ET Program, Reagan follows a structured rotation, spending three weeks offshore, three weeks onshore, and additional time in training. Her offshore experience includes rotations across different job positions and, eventually, international assignments. "Each role has taught me something new, and the crews are incredibly supportive. They encourage questions and ensure I’m always learning."

When asked what advice she would give to young women considering a career in the industry, Reagan shared, "The first thing I’d say is: You can do this. I’ve had people tell me they couldn’t do what I do, but I believe anyone can if they push themselves beyond their comfort zone. That’s where growth happens." Outside of Valaris, Reagan has a passion for lacrosse and mentoring younger players. She recently moved to Texas and is enjoying exploring her new surroundings.

Reflecting on her time with Valaris so far, Reagan credits the people for making the experience truly exceptional. "The support from colleagues, both offshore and onshore, has been incredible. This company is built on great people, and that’s what makes it special."
