Announcement: Alexander Mann Appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Virginia Blockchain Council The Virginia Blockchain Council (VBC) is excited to announce the appointment of Alexander Mann as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). As the owner of SmartGrow Agritech and an active participant in public policy and education initiatives with the BSV Blockchain Association, Alexander brings a unique combination of strategic leadership, operational expertise, and blockchain innovation to this pivotal role. His work with the BSV Blockchain Association aligns with the VBC’s mission of advocating for blockchain technology's responsible growth and adoption in Virginia. This crossover ensures that Alexander’s appointment will bring a fresh perspective, drawing from his experience in public policy, education, and blockchain industry leadership. In his new role, Alexander will oversee the Council's operations, manage key initiatives, and spearhead efforts to expand blockchain advocacy throughout Virginia. His proven track record of innovation and his commitment to building sustainable blockchain solutions position him as the ideal leader to advance the VBC’s mission. We are pleased to announce the addition of Robin Luu to the Virginia Blockchain Council Board of Directors! Robin is a self-motivated and results-driven professional. Her leadership, networking and communication skills have enabled her to work effectively with CEOs, Managing Directors, and business owners, driving growth and operational success. Over the past few years, Robin has been deeply involved in real estate tokenization, leveraging blockchain to revolutionize property ownership and investment. She has also been exploring the opportunities of Web3 to transform various industries. Robin’s continued advocacy and community-building efforts on behalf of the Virginia Blockchain Council have been instrumental in helping the Council grow. Come celebrate the Bitcoin Halving with us and our friends in NOVA!

SB 439, sponsored by Sen. Salim, was signed this week by the Governor, ordering the creation of a Blockchain Commission in Virginia. This will be a good 1-2 punch with SB 339 which orders a study. This means that we will have a body of stakeholders, consisting of 15 members, evaluating Blockchain. The commission includes seven legislative members and eight non-legislative members, appointed by various entities, including the Governor, the Attorney General, and representatives of the Department of Treasury and Information Technology Advisory Council. With the commission in place, we hope to see at least 15 additional champions thinking critically about Blockchain. This is a significant development for the Commonwealth and the blockchain industry in Virginia. Proud of the work the Virginia Blockchain Council, community and all stakeholders accomplished this General Assembly. A big thanks to The Office of Senator Saddam Azlan Salim and his leadership on this bill.
