Last night, I had the privilege of attending a global virtual event hosted by UX@UA to explore the release of "Designing Tomorrow," a groundbreaking book that examines how visionary design can shape our future. The discussion covered the Life-Centered Design Process and its integration with technology, business, human values, and environmental ethics to propose responsible innovative solutions for today’s design challenges. A heartfelt thank you to the authors and speakers, Steve Baty and Martin Tomitsch, for their valuable insights and for inspiring us to contribute towards our 1% of meaningful change. For those passionate about the future of design and sustainability, this book is a must-read! I’m particularly excited to read about the design method: backcasting and the collective impact of partnerships on design frameworks. https://lnkd.in/gqfWa3yh #DesigningTomorrow #Innovation #FutureOfDesign #VirtualEvent

Pizza and a design challenge - what more could you ask for on a Thursday night?? ???? Over 20 UX enthusiasts gathered in the Data Studio at the University of Arizona Main Library for a hands-on workshop. They worked in groups on research questions, user interview questions, and personas for 3 different design challenges. From figuring out pizza delivery to designing a tour on campus, they tackled each challenge with gusto, even sketching prototypes for their product. All the while they got feedback from two pros, Rebecca Blakiston, Senior UX Researcher at Ad Hoc, and Bob Liu, User Experience Strategist at the University of Arizona Libraries. Thank you to our speakers and all who attended. See you in fall 2024 for more events!
