United Way of Southwest Alabama’s mission is to improve the quality of life in the community.
关于我们
The United Way of Southwest Alabama (UWSWA) serves Mobile, Washington and Clarke Counties. Created in 1926, as a Community Chest, the UWSWA’s mission is to improve the quality of life in the community. The vision is that the organization will strengthen communities by focusing on uniting and mobilizing resources in support of the building blocks for a better life: Education, Financial Stability, Health, and Essentials. The UWSWA has raised and invested more than $230 million into the community to help strengthen the capacity of positive community progress. Many of these issues that affect our community are addressed by the funded programs and initiatives that help more than 600,000 local people each year. For more information visit www.uwswa.org

At United Way of Southwest Alabama, we believe that help should always be just a call away. That’s why our 2-1-1 helpline is available 24/7 to connect individuals and families with critical resources like food, housing, utility assistance, and crisis support. Throughout 2024, we answered 17,186 calls from people in need, providing guidance, support, and connections to local services. Each call represents a real person facing challenges, and we are proud to have been there to help. As we celebrate 2-1-1 Day, we remain committed to serving even more people in 2025.
