We would like to congratulate our faculty Pedro Arduino who was awarded with the Honoris Causa Doctor from the National University of Córdoba (UNC). The ceremony took place this past November 11, 2024 at the University’s historic “Aula Magna” in Córdoba, Argentina. The National University of Córdoba, founded in 1604, is the oldest university in Argentina and the second oldest in South America. It has played a pivotal role in South American history, contributing to key events such as the emancipation from Spain, subsequent civil wars, the establishment of a democratic government, and the influential University Reform of 1918, which profoundly shaped higher education across Latin America. This award reflects a professional journey that Dr. Arduino was fortunate to pursue at the University of Washington and, in some sense, serves as a recognition of UW as well. This honor is not solely an individual accolade but a testament to the collective work achieved within an institution dedicated to excellence.
