We are proud to be home to the Center for Health Enhancement Systems Studies (CHESS). CHESS was founded by Professor Dave Gustafson, for whom our department chair is named. They recently received more than $17 million in federal grants to support treatment for mental health conditions and substance-use disorders. Todd Molfenter, Deputy Director of CHESS, is the Principal Investigator for these grants. Last month, Ranjana Mehta traveled to India to present her lab's work on human-technologies interactions for industrial engineering applications. This invited talk served not only to present this important research, but also to extend opportunities for collaborations and student exchange programs between the Indian Institue of Management (#IIM) Mumbai, and our department at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
