In honor of #WorldDiabetesDay, meet Marc Breton, PhD, an associate professor of research at the School of Medicine working with our Center for Diabetes Technology. Breton's research centers on bringing engineering techniques including mathematical modeling and automatic control into the field of medicine. One of the ways he's done that is through his work on the artificial pancreas, which combines the use of a continuous glucose monitor and an insulin pump to constantly maintain delivery levels best suited for the user's needs. ??
