Art has the special power to tap into our emotions and trigger action. We are thrilled to continue growing our partnership as we embark on our upcoming initiatives. This week, UV4PEACE was proud to participate in the climate camp titled "Creating a Climate of Cooperation," hosted by Tectonic and the Peace Boat as it docked in New York City! This was a fantastic opportunity to connect with a diverse community of innovators, investors, UN delegates, public sector partners, artists, advocates, policymakers, and champions. Together, we explored the intersections of #climate, #cultureofpeace, and other #globalchallenges, and how creative collaboration can address these issues. Kudos to Emilie McGlone and all the team for such a meaningful program. Haven’t been one to post many updates. But this moment calls for it. As a youth representative for United Voices 4 Peace, I’m honored to join day 1 of UN summit of the future alongside the inspiring Veronica Sabbag. It’s not just an invitation, it’s a responsibility to shape the future we all deserve. The conversations on gender equality, sustainability, and technology are ambitious, but they must be the standards we hold ourselves to. We are thrilled to announce that our "Global Women in Music" documentary will be presented today in the context of the 77th Edition of the Festival de Cannes ?? !!! As announced in Variety last week, United Voices 4 Peace will support the launch of @HerClubCannes collective at an exclusive event at the Forbes Villa in Cannes. Hosted by HerFlix in partnership with @femalefilmclub @yesshecannes & @Sisterlandstudio, this women led initiative will raise awareness on HER role in the film industry. UV4PEACE is proud to introduce in this context its signature program "Global Women in Music", sheding a light on the limited space that women composers hold in the film industry ; only 3% of the music featured in films, an oustanding statistic. Today, the representation of women on screen and behind the screen is essential to overcome gender stereotypes and deep-rooted inequalities. Cinema has a powerful cultural impact and can be a tool for promoting social change. It is therefore crucial to continue to support and encourage the participation of women in all aspects of the film industry in order to create a more equitable and inclusive world for all. We are thrilled to announce that on the occasion of the sixty-eighth session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) and in celebration of International Women’s Day, 2024, United Voices 4 Peace and the United Nations Symphony Orchestra (UNSRC) present the second edition of “Global Women in Music.” ?? This one-of-its-kind concert will feature a full program of music from female composers from around the world ??. ?? Scheduled for March 12, 2024, at the NYU Skirball Performing Arts Center in NY, this second annual cultural event will be held under the baton of multi-award winning conductor Amy Andersson. Considering that still, only 5 % of concert music scheduled around the world is from women composers, we will mitigate this astounding fact by featuring the works of eight talented women composers from different countries and backgrounds.
