Hola Familia! ???We are excited to start our spring semester with UT SHPE!??? The spring semester is in full swing, and UT SHPE is thrilled to be back! In January, we held our?8th and 9th General Meetings, kicking off the semester with huge energy, excitement, and community. We also had the opportunity to welcome Julio Pineda from Micron Technology, who highlighted the recent expanse of Micron's fabrication facilities and opportunities for UT students. We would like to thank Micron for their ongoing support, as it continues to empower and uplift future Hispanic engineers! ?? As we dive deeper into the semester, we’re looking forward to some incredible events on the horizon: SNAP Study Nights, SHPEtinas organization and our new director Gricell Garcia, E-week, Lonestar Showdown, UT STEM Girl Day and many more! Hola Familia! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the National Convention! ?? The University of Texas at Austin SHPE chapter proudly represented the Longhorn spirit at this year’s 50th SHPE National Convention in Anaheim, California! We are thrilled to have sponsored over 50 members and had the honor of more than 100 attendees, showcasing our commitment to excellence in engineering. Throughout the convention, our members had invaluable opportunities to network with peers and industry professionals, attend a variety of workshops, luncheons, and tours, and participate in the extensive two-day career fair. Congratulations to all our Longhorns who received interviews, offers, or made impactful new connections—an important milestone in their professional journeys! UT SHPE also joined the SHPE Region 5 meeting, reconnecting with regional chapters and celebrating our shared achievements. We are immensely grateful not only for the support from our generous sponsors, but also the dedication of our chapter leadership, whose time and efforts made this event possible. ?? HOLA FAMILIA ?? We’re halfway through the fall semester! Recently, UT SHPE hosted GM 5 right before heading to the National Convention. Our members showed up in their spookiest costumes, featuring Spider-Man, Bowser, Minions, and plenty of monkeys. With the fall holidays swiftly falling behind us, UT SHPE has been working hard to finalize our calendar, prep for convention, and ace those midterms. To all our members, supporters, and sponsors, Happy Halloween and Día de Los Muertos! ?? Next stop -> NATIONAL CONVENTION ?

HOLA FAMILIA!!!! You know what time it is—GM 4! This past Wednesday, UT SHPE had the opportunity to welcome Mitchell Hoge representing Eli Lilly and Company! He shared insights into the company’s innovative medical devices and products, and how SHPE engineers can get involved in this exciting field. We also had updates from our directors and chairs about upcoming events, including a spotlight on Lonestar ?, the amazing victories of our IM soccer teams ??, National Convention preparation workshops, and the Manitos y Manitas program ????????. It may be spooky season, but SHPE members aren't afraid of recruiters! Lastly, we’d like to extend a big thank you to Mitchell and Eli Lilly for their support of UT SHPE. HOLA FAMILIA!!! Our third GM of the semester was brimming with spirit! In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the theme was to represent your country, and SHPE did not disappoint. From the tip of Chile to the mountains of Mexico, our members were eager to celebrate and showcase their culture and heritage!?? ?? ?? We also had the pleasure of welcoming Ashley Karasiewicz from Stryker, who shared insights into their cutting-edge medical technologies and discussed how SHPE members can get involved with the company.
