Every year at the annual Summit & Plugfest, we choose a deserving pet charity to raise money for. This year's recipient was the Watauga Humane Society in North Carolina. The Watauga Humane Society, like so many in the region, was severely impacted by Hurricane Helene yet they still took it upon themselves to serve not only the pets and pet families in their own community but those of the surrounding counties as well. We were thrilled to be able to raise money for this excellent cause and present the check to Director of Operations and Animal Welfare, Ashlee Yepez. Our final 2024 Chairman's Award goes to our utility winner, Evergy. As was evident by the conversations and presentations taking place at the 2024 UBBA Summit & Plugfest, the future of utility operations is looking very bright.
