The Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree provides professional education for students interested in public-service careers. Accredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA), the interdisciplinary program is designed to stress the knowledge, skills, values, and behaviors essential to the successful public servant. Some flexibility in curriculum is permitted to meet the diverse educational needs of pre-service and in-career students, changing-career students, and students in different career specialties in public administration. The curriculum components are designed to produce professionals capable of intelligent and creative analysis, communication, and action in the public sector context. With 23+ years in law enforcement, Chief Carlos Enriquez has dedicated his career to community safety and innovative policing. From starting in corrections to becoming Chief of Police, he’s led with a focus on education, leadership, and community engagement. His talk touched on:? ? Innovative Crime Reduction – Hosting Friday night cinema events helped curb petty crime while funding scholarships for local youth. ? Community Support – Established a nonprofit and food pantry to assist those in need. ?Mental Health Advocacy – Implemented an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for city employees, ensuring free, confidential support. ? Modern Policing – Emphasizes education, resource management, and adaptability in law enforcement. Chief Enriquez’s leadership proves that public service extends beyond policing—it’s about empowering communities and inspiring change.
